Frequently asked questions
What if I need more than just one of the methods on my neck?
If you require more than one method for your neck lift, Dr. Moujab will determine the best combination to achieve optimal results. The specific combination of methods will be discussed during your consultation.
Will I have to be under general anesthesia?
General anesthesia is typically used for these procedures due to their invasive nature.
I’m nearing 60, am I too old for a necklift?
Age alone does not determine candidacy for a neck lift. People up to 70 years old have successfully undergone surgery. Your overall health will be evaluated to determine if you are a candidate.
Can I have a facelift at the same time as the necklift?
A facelift can be performed at the same time as a neck lift. Many individuals choose to have multiple procedures done simultaneously. This option can be discussed with Dr. Moujab during your initial consultation.
How soon can I play sports or be physically active after surgery?
The timing for resuming sports or strenuous physical activity after surgery varies based on the extent of the procedure. Dr. Moujab typically advises against strenuous activity for at least two weeks to protect the sutures and ensure proper healing. However, engaging in non-strenuous activities like walking is encouraged to promote circulation and aid in healing. Aim to walk for at least five to ten minutes every other hour while awake in the two weeks following surgery.
